Turihaua Annual Sale Results 2017
Sixty Nine rising two year old bulls were sold by auction for an average of $10,161 with three of these sold to stud. The top price of $21,000 was paid for lot 5, bought by the Scott Family from Mangapapa Angus in Kawhia, a bull with high growth and high fertility. Lot 28, deep into the catalogue, sold to Waiteranui Angus Stud for $20,000. Of the bulls sold, 32 brought bids from $10,000 in a range up to the top price.
“It has probably been our most consistent line, borne out by the consistency of the prices through the sale,” Paul said.
“It was also great to get all of them away and I feel the success of the sale was a reflection of optimism in the beef market
It was Bruce Orr’s last auction at Turihaua Angus after 11 years of Auctioneering. We are very grateful for his contribution to the Turihaua sales particularly from his knowledge of the cattle and his ability to find positive attributes to every bull that went through the ring. As the saying goes “He could sell snow to the eskimo.” We wish him well in his retirement.
