Sale Results

Seventy four rising two year old bulls were sold by auction for a record average of $12,486. with three of these sold to stud, and 44 of the bulls selling for five figures. The top price of $25,000 was paid for Lot 2, to be shared between Grampians Angus and Brackenfield Angus of North Canterbury, a bull with high growth and high fertility. Lot 12, a powerful bull was sold to Kay Jay Angus Stud, Wairarapa. We have built great relationships with these Stud Breeders and look forward to hearing how the bulls and their progeny contribute towards their herds progress.

It was a proud night for studmaster Paul Williams, who said they were “humbled” by the continuing support from long-established clients and their new ones.

“The type of bull we are producing is what they want. The bulls go out and do their work for us, and for them. “We are all blown away really by this sale. It’s pretty awesome,” he said.

“It’s also relevant to the current optimism in the beef market.”

Paul Williams said he was personally really satisfied with what he had been able to achieve with the stud since he took over from his father Hamish three years ago.

It was Stock Agent Steve Goldsburys last auction at Turihaua Angus before retiring, his first job was at Turihaua in the early 80s. We are very grateful for his support and contribution over 30 years to the stud and commercial operation We wish him well in his retirement.
