2019 Yearling bull sale
Wednesday 26th September at 1:00pm.
We had a cracker yearling bull sale late September with a total clearance of 25 bulls sold for an average price of $7584. The top priced animal, lot 6, sold to stud for $14,000, and was purchased by Waiterenui Angus Stud in Hawke’s Bay.
“We’re very happy with the result today. They were a very good line of bulls, very even right through the catalogue,” said stud manager Paul Williams.
“We consider these boys our heifer mating specialists and they will keep the buyers on the front foot with their breeding programmes.”
Auctioneer Neville Clark from Carrfields Livestock said the result spoke for itself.
“It was a marvellous sale. A 100 percent clearance, a strong average, that shows the faith in the Turihaua brand and in their cattle.
“They looked very well those bulls, bloody good actually. So, yes, it was a good hardy sale. Good for the stud and good for the Angus breed.”
Paul Williams was rapt on the increased average, up about a thousand dollars on last year. “It’s slowly improving, which is where we want to be.”
Hamish Williams summed it up — “Excellent, very satisfying.”
